Eden Foods is a rare independent manufacturer of organic, traditional, and natural food. Beginning in Ann Arbor, Michigan as a small co-op in 1968, then a small retail store with milling, roasting, and packaging operations, then into warehousing, wholesaling, and fleet delivery, and finally into manufacturing and EDEN brand development. Eden works directly with 350 dedicated family farms nurturing more than 75,000 acres of organic farmland, much of it in the Great Lakes region. Purchasing close to Eden's Clinton, Michigan headquarters reduces fossil fuel use, and organic farming in the region protects lakes, streams, wetlands, and wildlife in myriad ways. Many experts believe that the leading contributor to water pollution is toxic agricultural chemicals, even more so than other industrial contaminants. Eden's farmers do not use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fumigants, or the like.
